Lincoln

Tetralogy of Fallot (ToF) with Pulmonary Atresia (PA)

We found out there may be something wrong with Lincoln’s heart at the 20 week ultrasound. A few weeks later we were sitting in the cardiologist’s office learning that he would be born with a congenital heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. Lincoln went through his first open heart surgery at just 5 days old and spent the first 5 weeks of his life in the hospital. Since then, he has had two catheterizations to place and replace a stent in his heart. While he will need more open heart surgeries as he gets older, he is currently a thriving 3-year old who loves music, super heros, and the playground. Lincoln has learned to embrace his special heart, as he calls it, and enjoys telling all his doctors about it. While Lincoln was slower on many developmental milestones, especially crawling and walking, he is now your average 3-year old boy, who won’t sit still. Lincoln truly is a super hero!
